Zinc White

Have you got rid of white spots in your nails?

I've got white spots in my nails. I've heard that this is due to a zinc or calcium defficiency - but I eat well and take vitamin tablets but can't get rid of them. Has anyone managed to get rid of theirs?
I know I have to wait for them to grow out, but they keep coming back. I seem to have them all the time.

I get a lot of these white spots too, but when I asked my doctor he said that they are probably the result of a trauma to the developing nail. Like a bruise but because a nail hardens as it develops it says there. My doctor said that just bumping the developing nail can cause one.
