Derwent Pastel

What's the best type of pencils for me to draw with?
I'm a traditional artist. I've been using Derwent Coloursofts for ages, and while they're great for backgrounds and filling in blocks of colour, they're very soft and pastel-like, so they're hard to do details with, and don't stay sharp long.
I'd mostly use them for draing things like hair, fur or scales, that sort of thing. Do you know of a good pencil brand/type that is good for details, and has vibrant colours?
I use a Staedler .05 mechanical pencil for just about everything.
If you're going for color, I would suggest prisma color. I use their pencils and markers. They work great for me and last a while.
