how do i get a smooth flat tone when useing artist's acrylic paint?
Check with your art supply store. They should sell both "gloss medium" and "matte medium". Both of these are clear. The matte medium will give you a flat finish. Both of these mediums are acrylic. If you use a gesso, the same manufacturer should also produce the mediums (which I assume is the correct spelling instead of media).
