Paper Mache

Paper mache that lasts? Clay that you dont have to bake after making a sculpture?
I need to know how to make paper mache masks that will last - flour and water will not cut it
and I want to start sculpting, but with an "easy" clay... that will also last, but does not need to be baked! HELP ME!
Ok, the paper mache question has been answered... I dont think playdough will last if I do something and want to show it to people
but thank you for the answer! I just need a nice workable clay that - if push comes to shove I can put in my oven to bake - ? Any art teachers on answers??
For paper mache that lasts try using wallpaper paste. there is some you have to mi with water, but can also buy it ready to go. as for sculpting with out firing the clay....umm....playdoh? if you dont have access to a kiln and are wanting to work in 3d i strongly suggest starting with plaster and doing some basic carving
