Oil Colours
Can I use regular oil paints to hand colour a black and white photograph?
I just learned about hand colouring a photograph...which is great! Now I don't have to order a c.d with my negatives and do everything on iPhoto.
However, I'm a bit short on cash and have my Winsor and Newton oils...can I use those to colour a photograph instead of photo oils?
This is how we were actually told to do it when I was at art college, but you have to have the actual B/W print.
You use them straight from the tube and rub on very gently with a soft cloth, only using a small amount at a time.
You can only get quite pale shades and it's a bit messy, but you can get some nice effects.
