Mixable Oil

What is the difference between water mixable oil paints and regular oil paints?
I have been painting with water mixable oil paints for a while now but the other day i bought some more paints and when i got home i realized that they were not water mixable. When i bought the water mixable ones the guy at the art supply store told me that the water mixable paints did not require turpentine unlike the regular. does that mean i need turpentine to clean my brushes after painting with the regular oils? and also, i know you shouldnt ever pour turpentine down the drain, but what is a good procedure to follow for the use of turpentine due to it being so toxic?
You will need to clean up regular oils with turpentine or similar solvent. You can use a jar to clean or collect the used dirty turpentine and when full and exhausted take it to your recycling center.
If you are used to using water mixable and are happy with the results maybe just take back the regular oils and exchange them.
