Learn Oil
What were the lessons the US was supposed to learn from the 1972 and 1978 oil embargos?
No, this isn't a homework question.
But it seems that the current oil crisis is something that the US had 30 years to prepare for.
The lesson was supposed to be that we should be energy independent. Of course, once the 70's energy crises eased up, the vast majority forget about the hard learned lessons and acted as if the oil embargo never happened. What people also forgot that the oil embargos also effected the econony and we had sky high interest rates and inflation during the 70's (remember Carter and his Whip Inflation Now button?)
