Crayola Watercolor

Painting.....paints, tips??
What's a good paint to paint on cardboard, paper, and miscellaneous things as well?
Watercolor, I know. But, all the supplies and paints cost a good amount of money..
What about like regular paints? Like, crayola kind of paints..
What are those called?
What type?
What are the general paints, and what are they all primarily used for?
Any painting tips??
Thank You.
A less expensive brand of acrylic paints is probably what you want. Thinned, they can act like watercolor, but full strength they will be the vivid colors you likely want. Cheap watercolors in pans (Crayola, Prang, etc.) will not go as far, produce weak colors and will use up quickly, costing you more in the long run. For less than $10-15 you could have a decent set of acrylic paints and a couple brushes. You should buy the largest brushes you can use for your project, and use the tips or the edges for detail. Smaller brushes just wear out and take longer to cover your area with paint.
I recommend a good roll of brown kraft paper (the kind sold for wrapping things for shipping, etc.) instead of cardboard. You can cut it to any size you wish and it will be easier to store and can actually be framed. It is also good for using charcoal and pastels too. . . .
