Colour Cadmium

Creating Dramatic Shadow on Fair Toned Portraits? Oil and Acrylic?
What combination of colours would work for creating a very dark and dramatic shadow on a very light toned person. the colour for the skin tone is titanium white, ochre, and cadmium red. Also, what would a good transition colour between the shadow and highlights be?
Love using van dyke brown. very rich.
for cadmium red you'd want to add in some permanent green to get browner and then use the van dyke brown for the darkest value.
I tend to use dramatic baroque values in my paintings and permanent green is exactly what I was taught to use with the three colours you're using.
(your transitions are from
white -> yellow+red [orange] ->red +green=brown, [no +yellow because green has yellow] then red+green+van dyke
and van dyke as black or +ivory/mars black or dioxazine purple)
